Our Unique Story

From the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, to your hands in Canada.

Tōtika Nature was founded with a single purpose: to bring genuinely premium, science-verified Mānuka honey directly from New Zealand to Canadian homes, with full traceability, no shortcuts, and no compromise on quality.

We are the Canadian arm of Tōtika Health Limited , founded by Dr Isaac Flitta in Kerikeri, Bay of Islands, Northland, New Zealand, one of the world's most pristine Mānuka-producing regions. Dr Flitta holds a PhD and a Masters degree in materials science, is a published researcher, and is a founding member of a New Zealand apiculture body. He created the beekeeping curriculum at NorthTec and has dedicated years to understanding the science behind what makes Mānuka honey genuinely bioactive.

In Canada, Tōtika Nature is led by Amina Flitta, Canadian Operations Manager, a bilingual Chemical Engineer and certified Clinical Research professional with a background in pharmacovigilance and regulatory affairs. Amina brings the same science-led rigour to every product that reaches Canadian customers.

What Makes Our Honey Different

Not all Mānuka honey is equal, and the difference matters enormously. Our honey is:

  • Monofloral — sourced exclusively from Mānuka blossoms, not a blend

  • MGO certified — independently tested and verified for Methylglyoxal (MGO) content, the compound responsible for Mānuka honey's unique bioactive properties

  • MPI export certified — meeting New Zealand's Ministry for Primary Industries rigorous chemical and DNA marker standards for authentic monofloral Mānuka

  • Fully traceable — every jar is traceable back to our hives in the Bay of Islands, Northland, New Zealand

  • Non-pasteurised, no additives — raw and natural, exactly as nature intended

MGO (Methylglyoxal) is the key marker of authentic Mānuka honey's potency. The higher the MGO rating, the more concentrated the bioactive compounds. Our range starts at MGO 250+ and reaches MGO 850+ — among the highest grades available for export.

The Bay of Islands Difference

Terroir matters in Mānuka honey just as it does in fine wine. The Bay of Islands in Northland, New Zealand is one of the most biodiverse and climatically ideal regions for Mānuka production. The combination of coastal climate, native bush, and untouched land produces honey with consistently high MGO levels and a distinctive flavour profile you simply cannot replicate elsewhere.
